The 13th Ethiopian Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Services Forum will be organized from 11st to 13th of January 2020 at the very historic town of Wolaita Sodo with a theme ‘Strengthening performance and self-reliance of water and sanitation Utilities to improve access for all in Ethiopia‘. In the conference from 350 – 450 people will attend the different plenary and parallel sessions. We therefore cordially invite individuals, groups, Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Water Development Commission, Regional Water bureaus, Utilities, Development Partners, and institutions to share their practical experience with abstract submissions and full presentations in the following sub themes and topics.

Ethiopian Water Technology Institute (EWTI) mission is to realize nationwide rapid development in the water sector through capacity building, research and study for technology transfer, specialized laboratory and TVET Support and competence service that improve the sector’s overall implementation capacity.
The Institute is primarily focused on practical oriented trainings, targeting over 1200 graduates a year not only from Ethiopia but also from Africa. Based on its vision to be center of Excellence in East Africa by 2025, the Institute is providing International training entitled “Performing Fluid Engineering” in collaboration with Japan International cooperation Agency (JICA).
As mentioned above, in the past research related to water was not well incorporated into development efforts. Currently the Ministry has a policy direction aimed at integrating the research as part of development efforts. In line with this, the Ministry considers the following points as key areas for research (MoWR/ESTC 2002).
